Microsoft IT Pro Training and Certifications
Overview & Objectives:
Currently there are two certification structures in Microsoft Certifications:
The new certification structure is directly relevant to the latest technologies and to your specific job role. The initial topics covered in the certification family include Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, and Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006. Recently added topics include Windows Vista and Microsoft Office Project 2007.
The Windows Server 2003 certifications like MCP, MCSA and MCSE are still valid - they are relevant to the current popular technologyes like SQL 2000, XP and Server 2003.
New Microsoft Certifications Path
- MCTS : Microsoft Certified
Technology Specialist

- MCITP: Microsoft Certified IT Professional (
update every three years from the date that you earned the certification , or your certification will lapse )
- MCPD: Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (update every three years from the date that you earned the certification , or your certification will lapse)
- MCA: Microsoft Certified Architect (
an MCA candidate be either a Microsoft Certified Partner or a full-time Microsoft employee

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Certifications Path
- MCP: Microsoft Certified Professional (retired when Microsoft discontinues mainstream support for the related technology)
- MCSA: Microsoft Certified System Administrator (lifelong or retired when Microsoft discontinues mainstream support for the related technology)
- MCSE: Microsoft Certified System Engineer (lifelong or retired when Microsoft discontinues mainstream support for the related technology)
- MCDBA: Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (lifelong or retired when Microsoft discontinues mainstream support for the related technology)
- MCAD: Microsoft Certified Application Developer (lifelong or retired when Microsoft discontinues mainstream support for the related technology)
- MCSD: Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (lifelong or retired when Microsoft discontinues mainstream support for the related technology)
