CCIE Routing & Switching

Overview & Objectives:
CCIE certification in Routing and Switching indicates expert level knowledge of networking across various LAN and WAN interfaces, and a variety of routers and switches. Experts in R&S solve complex connectivity problems and apply technology solutions to increase bandwidth, improve response times, maximize performance, improve security, and support global applications. Candidates should be able to install, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and dial access services.

There are no formal prerequisites for CCIE certification. Other professional certifications and/or specific training courses are not required. Instead, candidates are expected to have an in-depth understanding of the subtleties, intricacies and challenges of end-to-end networking. You are strongly encouraged to have 3-5 years of job experience before attempting certification. To obtain your CCIE, you must first pass a written qualification exam and then a corresponding hands-on lab exam.

Course Duration:
48 Hours (Part-time or Fulltime available)

Who should attend:
To fully benefit from this course, student typically will have attended the Cisco CCDP, CCNP curriculum and passed the certification tests. Successful students must have the following prerequisite skills:
Networking terms, numbering schemes, and topologies
Open System Interconnection (OSI) reference model
Operating and configuring a Cisco router
TCP/IP stack and configuring IP addresses
IP subnetting to include complex subnetting and variable-length subnet masking (VLSM)
Routing protocol operation and configuration for Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP), Enhanced IGRP (EIGRP), and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) single-area networks
Using, implementing, and configuring static and default routes
Verifying basic router configurations using show and debug command output
Basic router configuration
Basic switch configuration
Basic VLAN configuration
Spanning Tree Protocol configuration
Inter-Switch Link configuration
Standard access list configuration
General Cisco router operation and configuration
TCP/IP operation and configuration
Routing Protocols (RIP, IGRP)
Routed IP Protocols and IP Utility applications
Standard and extended access lists
PPP operation and PPP configuration over serial links
